El Pais: Robert Bast Interview Translated
Courtesy of Google Translate is an interview from last night with El Pais, Spain’s #1 newspaper. Obviously the translation isn’t great, so it is for entertainment purposes only. I love the headline 🙂
“I believe in the Mayan prophecy when I’m in the shower”
One of the books most vilified by the scientific community in recent years Robert Bast life changed. This New Zealander, now 47, ran in the mid-nineties with a copy of Fingerprints of the Gods , where the colorful journalist Graham Hancock is expanding on the origin of men and civilizations that supposedly preceded ours and we do not know because, according to him, the Earth has experienced great cataclysms that destroyed them. Among these pages, Bast gave to what became the obsession of his life: the Mayan apocalypse.
There is the possibility that now, fifteen years later, Bast is a leading architect of the alleged Mayan prediction has become a worldwide phenomenon . It is often said that …
Could Solar Storms Cause Geomagnetic Reversals?
I’m not talking ordinary solar storms. I’m talking a once-in-every-40-thousand-years solar storm. That’s something we have no written record of, and given how little we know about our Sun, it is quite possible that it is capable of sending such a super-massive solar storm our way when it feels like it.
So, if a super-massive solar storm – say ten times more powerful than the Carrington Event – could one day occur, could it be powerful enough to flip our magnetic poles?
That’s a question for a physicist, not me. But I did find these two snippets:
It is conceivable that a very large cosmic ray barrage could induce a ring current magnetic field large enough to reverse the geomagnetic polarity at the Earth’s surface. Particle -induced field reversals have been simulated in the laboratory by injecting large quantities of charged particles into a magnetic field (Golden et al., 1981). At a certain …
Wyoming Doomsday Bill
(I forgot to post this earlier this year, but it is still relevant… Rob)
STATE OF WYOMING
HOUSE BILL NO. HB0085

First Man-Made Species
This would be of special interest to those who believe that humans are a hybrid species created by aliens (not me…).
Moreno genetically modified the fruit flyDrosophila melanogaster so that this new species Drosophila synthetica cannot reproduce with the naturally occurring species of fruit fly. Drosophila synthetica also has smaller, lighter eyes and the wing veins have a different structure than the natural species.
http://www.examiner.com/article/first-man-made-species-revealed
Hybrid animals can be created through natural breeding, but this is the first time an entirely new species has been created by man – with the definition of species meaning it can only reproduce with its own. And it is potentially good news, because whichever traits are bio-engineered will (hopefully) be impossible to transfer to the originating species.
Where could this lead?
Presumably we will see new species of livestock – I reckon chickens will be first. But in the long term you’s expect that someone, somewhere, will try to improve humans. I don’t like the …
Could Eta Carinae Harm Us?
I’ve just been reading Parallel Worlds by Michio Kaku. He is very skilled at making complex topics easy to follow. And that helps me to generate ideas rather than just trying to keep up. This is from page 126:
Gamma Ray Bursters… releasing within seconds the entire energy output of our Sun over its entire life history (about 10 billion years).
That amount of energy is hard to imagine. The current thinking is that a GRB is the result of a hypernova – a super supernova. And all the energy would be released in two narrow directions which are known as a jets. The closest potential hypernova that we know of is Eta Carinae.
This from Wikipedia:
It is possible that the Eta Carinae hypernova or supernova, when it occurs, could affect Earth, about 7,500 light years away. It is unlikely, however, to affect terrestrial lifeforms directly, as they will be protected from gamma …
Solar Power Generator / Survival Properties For Sale
It looks like a photocopier…
But it is a generator. It’s just missing a fuel tank, motor, fumes and noise. According to Hammacher Schlemmer this $2000 unit is silent and emission free. It is powered a 1250-watt battery, fed by two 30-watt solar panels. Additional panels cost $240 each
When fully charged (20 hours of direct sunlight, so 2-3 sunny days), the generator can power:
a refrigerator for up to four days
a television for 35 hours
a laptop for up to 30 hours
As you can see, it is certainly multi-use. Work, leisure and sustenance are all covered by their examples. In a survivalist situation you’d want more panels – four would mean you could keep a fridge running all through summer. A second generator could be used for all your other appliances that do not need to be on all the time. (I know, it is getting expensive…)
Another beautiful aspect of this equipment is …
Mass Grave of Giant Wombats
So big were these marsupials that an adult human could fit in their pouch. The Diprotodon (giant wombat) is a great example of megafaunal extinction, and Australian scientists have uncovered the fossils of 50 of these animals. And as usual, the reason for their demise is about as far from global cataclysm as you can get:
He said it was thought the animals died after they became trapped in a bog.
Fifty of them. A stampede of giant wombats? But then the plot thickens:
The remains of other species, such as 20-foot lizards called megalania and giant crocodiles, were also found at the site.
“We’re almost certain that most of these carcasses of diprotodon have been torn apart by both the crocodiles and the lizards, because we’ve found shed teeth within their skeletons from both animals,” Hocknull told the BBC.
Prepping Requires Extreme Privacy
Prepping is a deadly serious occupation. If nothing terrible happens (probably the most likely scenario), then it can be joked about, it can be a humorous anecdote. But if the SHTF, then everything you have done until that point can become deadly serious:
Did you forget to pack identity documents (or copies) in your B.O.B?
You encounter a collapsed bridge and didn’t formulate a Plan B escape route?
You get to your safe spot and somebody else, armed to the teeth, is already there?
All those years of preparing and one mistake could ruin it all, and could genuinely be the difference between your family making it or not. My safe spot is a critical part of my preparations, and it is essential that I manage to get my family there, and that no strangers know of its existence.
I’ve had the privilege of being approached to present my thoughts on “doomsdays” to the general …
Melbourne – New Moon – 5.2 Quake
According to Universe Today, this month’s New Moon is at June 19, 15:02 (Universal Time).
According to the USGS and The Age, Moe (country town not far from Melbourne) had a 5.2 magnitude earthquake at June 19, 10:53.
My recent research has determined that major earthquakes are more likely during lunar eclipses. And some of the most catastrophic earthquakes recently have occurred during solar eclipses. They are the same alignments as full and new moons, only more precise.
The other observation I have made is that at those times earthquakes are more likely in places that are not usually associated with earthquakes. Like the UK and Australia. Just two weeks ago, during full moon, Ireland had their biggest ever recorded earthquake.
It’s pretty much statistically impossible (for me anyway) to show that such quakes are becoming increasingly more common. But they certainly could be, and it seems that way. Every two weeks from here …
Emergency Light Bulb + Funny Video
I think this is a great product – it’s an LED bulb that has a battery inside, meaning you get 7 hours of light when your power is out – and it doubles as a flashlight! When the grid goes down at 2AM, and you figure it would be smart to flee to your safe spot – you don’t want to be stumbling around in the dark wasting precious time…

In this video, leading presidential candidates Mitt and Newt discuss the merits of the Axiom LED Rudolph:
NASA Debunks Galactic Alignment
The Galactic Alignment was originally promoted by John Major Jenkins, and then it became a mutant meme. So mutated that journalists ask me about the planetary alignment of 2012 (there isn’t one). There’s two ways of looking at:
1. The ancient Mayans cared about the Dark Rift (which is where the galactic center is) and were very accurate at predicting when it would align with the solstice Sun.
2. Some physical or mystical effect will occur due to the alignment.
Regarding the latter, the alignment was at its most aligned in 1998, and nothing has happened. And in terms of physics, the only force that could have any effect is gravity, and the galactic center is too far away to be meaningful. NASA describe this well:
Second, Earth is not within range of strong gravitational effects from the black hole at the center of the galaxy since gravitational effects decrease exponentially the …
Complicated Crop Circle: Man-Made – Proven
No need for any commentary here. As much as a video can be evidence these days, here’s proof that an intricate crop circle was made by a bunch of people using planks and ropes.
Rennes-Le-Chateau, Bugarach and 2012
I’ve been reporting over at 2012 News about Bugarach (France), where many 2012ers and UFO fans are allegedly gathering. So many in fact that the mayor of the small village has complained, and a government agency is warning about 2012 sects building bunkers in the area. It smells like a publicity stunt to me…
Apart from the publicity, I’ve not been able to verify that Ramtha’s School of Enlightenment is setting up camp in Bugarach. They do have connections with 2012:
The movie made by Ramtha disciples, What the Bleep Do We Know?!, features Miceal Ledwith, and he has a 2012 product out, 2013: Alignment With Chaos
JZ Knight, who is the channel for Ramtha, mentions 2012 frequently, but seemingly with no specifics, because she is warning of times to come
Ramtha recently shared this information via Knight:
“Where you are sitting right now [London] in one night will be covered in ice. When will …
Buy A Dish
Ever wanted to own a satellite communications dish? For post-SHTF reception or perhaps doing SETI work? Or just because it is cool owning a piece of history? This is the ground station that received the first pics back from the moon:
Jamesburg Earth Station, Carmel Valley, California
The 21,718 square foot secure structure is not a bunker, but with walls three feet thick it could make a good shelter. It comes with 103 acres and can be purchased for just under $3 million, with adjoining properties also available. The dish is 97 feet in diameter, and if you felt like playing with it, according to the Monterey County Herald it costs $3000 a time in electricity. Full details of the sale here. More photos and info here.
