NASA Debunks Galactic Alignment
The Galactic Alignment was originally promoted by John Major Jenkins, and then it became a mutant meme. So mutated that journalists ask me about the planetary alignment of 2012 (there isn’t one). There’s two ways of looking at:
1. The ancient Mayans cared about the Dark Rift (which is where the galactic center is) and were very accurate at predicting when it would align with the solstice Sun.
2. Some physical or mystical effect will occur due to the alignment.
Regarding the latter, the alignment was at its most aligned in 1998, and nothing has happened. And in terms of physics, the only force that could have any effect is gravity, and the galactic center is too far away to be meaningful. NASA describe this well:

The Vivos mega-bunker in Nebraska was already going to house up to 250 strangers together for as along as a year, at a price of $25,000 each. Presumably sales are slower than expected, as they have now released a budget offering. For just $9,950 you get a bed in a shared room, with curtains separating your room from folk next door, and food for just six months. And depending on how many people make the investment, you could be sharing with 1,000 individuals you have never met. While this will be a niche group of people, in general you would expect that there is a limit to how many random folk you can place in a situation without a strong probability that one will be a risk to the safety of the rest of the group. Harold Camping / Christchurch Quake
Sad news today – 89-year-old Harold Camping the failed doomsday prophet, has suffered a mild stroke. He is recovering but not making any radio broadcasts, the future of which are unknown.
More heartache for Christchurch folk, with a 6.0 earthquake causing more damage but thankfully no fatalities – although dozens were injured. As the NZ prime minister said, they “are over it”. With the eclipse less than two days away, a much larger quake somewhere in the world could occur. It has been a month since the last 6.5+ earthquake.
Prophet Will Profit
As it happened, Doris Schmitt, the NY widow who left $250K to Harold Camping got her timing all screwed up. If her intention was for the preacher to use her bequeathment to advertise his doomsday, it would have arrived too late. Yes she died a few weeks prior to May 21, but the money takes some time to filter through. Or, did she predict his prediction would fail, and that he’d need some cash to replace all of his billboard costs? Who knows, but if anyone feels a similar urge, I (kinda) predict a nasty earthquake for the middle of this month.
