[that Mel Gibson has any special knowledge regarding 2012 is pure speculation on my part, as an example of how a famous person, in the know, might seem to act as 2012 approaches]

Well, well – back in February I speculated that perhaps Mel Gibson – the only person who has ever made a movie about the ancient Maya, star of Conspiracy Theory, company logo looking very Illuminati – is becoming increasingly unhinged due to an impending 2012 catastrophe.

Now, after the very public airings of his alleged violence towards former girlfriend Oksana Grigorieva, it appears that he is heading for what is perhaps the safest safe spot of all – Australia.

MEL Gibson is poised to quit the US and return to Australia with his ex-wife Robyn after selling his mansion near New York.

He has told friends he will move back to Australia with his former wife, who still supports him and recently spoke out against Grigorieva’s allegations.

The disgraced Hollywood star, who faces allegations of violence from former girlfriend Oksana Grigorieva, sold the mock-Tudor property, known as Old Mill Farm, for $28 million — a whopping $17 million less than the asking price.

Gibson has also put his Malibu, California home, Lavender Hill Farm, on the market for $17 million, according to a property newsletter.

Any Australian will tell you that Mel is an Aussie, but actually he was born in the USA, moved to Australia when he was 12, and made his early movies there. But due to his Hollywood career, Mel has been based in the USA for a very, very long time.

Is he running from the press (we have paparazzi in Australia as well)? Or is he preparing for 2012??
