Another Expert Agrees With Dark Comet Theory

Astronomer David Asher (from Armagh University) has agreed with Bill Napier and Janaki Wickramasinghe (Cardiff University) that “dark comets” are real and dangerous.
The following quotes are from a paper by Napier and Asher published in Astronomy & Geophysics.
http://star.arm.ac.uk/preprints/2009/539.pdf

We know that about one bright comet (of absolute magnitude as bright as 7, comparable to Halley’s Comet) arrives in the visibility zone (perihelion q<5AU, say) each year from the Oort cloud. It seems to be securely established that ~1–2% of these are captured into Halleytype (HT) orbits. The dynamical lifetime of a body in such an orbit can be estimated, from which the expected number of HT comets is perhaps ~3000. The actual number of active HT comets is ~25. This discrepancy of at least two powers of 10 in the expected impact rate from comets as deduced from this theoretical argument on the one hand, and observations on the other, is …

UPDATE: Zahi Hawass Quits?

Submitted by on April 1, 2011 – 1:29 am2 Comments

UPDATE: Mar 30 2011: Prime Minister Essam Sharaf appointed the head of the Supreme Council of Antiquities (SCA), Zahi Hawass, as the new Minister of State for Antiquities.

On his blog, Dr Zahi Hawass explains why he has resigned from his position of Minister of State for Antiquities Affairs. While there are suggestions and rumours that he was asked to leave, Hawass says it is because he no longer trusts some of his colleagues in light of recent thefts/lootings:

The second reason is that there are two crooks in the Antiquities Department, who have accused me of stealing antiquities and doing other illegal things all of the time. Their files talk about this. A third person started saying similar things, a university professor who was the Antiquities Director for almost 6 years before me, who never accomplished anything in that time. As a corrupt man, he even gave his signed permission to a rich lady from another Arabic country to take manuscripts out of Egypt! These three people encouraged young Egyptians to protest against me personally, to shout outside my office that they needed jobs. Sadly, I cannot give a job to everyone, but I did find funds to provide nearly 2000 training positions. In response to the horrible rumors that I am stealing antiquities. How could this be?! How could a man who has given his life to protecting and promoting antiquities, be accused later of stealing them?!

Very defensive!

Personally, I have long been concerned that leading up to 2012 drastic actions might be taken to bring about religious prophecy. Chief amongst these would be the building of the third temple at Temple Mount. Tension with the new Egyptian leaders could cause Israel to enable this, if they thought time was of the essence. News of such plans could spark the rise of a “false messiah” in the USA, a new presidential candidate with ties to evangelist Christianity. Some people would see that as the path towards WW3.

Another way of looking at the changes in Egypt concerns any secret discoveries that Hawass may have been keeping from us. Either he was being overly secretive, or not secretive enough. Perhaps the world will soon learn much more about ancient Egypt, or perhaps such information is being held tight by the powers that be. All speculation, of course, but that changes are happening in Egypt in 2011 can’t help but make me think they could be related to 2012.

  • I have a feeling Zahi Hawass will not be happy with portrayal of the fictional head of the SCA in Adam Palmer’s thriller The Moses Legacy.
