2012 Goes Web 2.0

Submitted by Robert Bast on April 29, 2010 – 12:47 amOne Comment

Amazon is flooded with 2012 books, it seems like there is a new one every day. Most are novels where the action pivots around that fateful day in Dec 2012, or are re-hashes of the “2012 will be enlightening, but only if enough people put the effort in…” new-age non-fiction.

Those in the know, know that the future of profitable content creation lies in digital media, not printed. In the year 2012, a good proportion of 2012 content will be consumed via eBooks, especially now that the iPad is kicking in. Parallel with that will be webinars and e-conferences, designed to whet the appetite.

To welcome the new direction, consider the following (however, because it is yet to happen, I cannot endorse it):

THE MAYAN CALENDAR PROPHECY “UNPLUGGED” TELE-CONFERENCE CALL - Sunday May 2
Join the conversation and activation with world re-known Mayan Calendar expert Dr Carl Calleman and Sweden’s answer to the Dalai Lama, Anette Carlstrom.
Cost is $12

A few days ago Lawrence E Joseph had a webinar entitled “The 2012 Phenomenon” (to my shame I missed it…)

Prepare yourself for a tsunami of 2012 literature and ideas presented digitally. My advice is to avoid anything where you do not recognise the creator, or where a simple Google search for their name finds nothing substantial.

Also, be wary of any eBook that costs more than a physical book – a book that has the approval of a publishing house, that has been proofread and edited, a book that you can be reasonably assured of  being an original work. Relatively speaking,  an eBook created with a profit motivation is probably worth less than $5. The exception to the rule would be something that you judge to be a labour of love. Where the author has achieved original ideas for your benefit.

I would like to mention a fact that seems to evade quite a few of my fellow believers.
I am not saying that the recent amount of quakes or natural disasters are unnatural but rather: Please consider * The fact of what 1 ash cloud had on the economy?
*The length of time it has taken to fix New orleans!
*How many people have or will die from Tsuminis!
*Earthquakes seem to reacte to the sun’s storms!
which peak in 2012 according to even the non-believers!
*Our satelites and energy grids are affected by the sun
Now please think about 4 volcanos with eruptions and their ash cloud, three large earthquakes and two major tsuminis, a loss of our cell phone use, our power going off line, a small jump in the radiation that affects of fragile planet!
Then tell me that life will probably not change during the next 2 1/2 years.
We don’t have to have a pole shift or any substantial change in the gravity, we just need to realize that we, yes, the SMART people of the world have put ourselves and our comfortable life style in the hands of satelites that can be regulated by naturally occurring solar flares, solar storms, highentened changes that never would have changed our lives 100 years ago.
WHY?? Because it is not the added media presense, it is our own technoligy that may kills us!
