Another Expert Agrees With Dark Comet Theory

February 21, 2013 – 11:31 am | No Comment

Astronomer David Asher (from Armagh University) has agreed with Bill Napier and Janaki Wickramasinghe (Cardiff University) that “dark comets” are real and dangerous.
The following quotes are from a paper by Napier and Asher published in Astronomy & Geophysics.
http://star.arm.ac.uk/preprints/2009/539.pdf

We know that about one bright comet (of absolute magnitude as bright as 7, comparable to Halley’s Comet) arrives in the visibility zone (perihelion q<5AU, say) each year from the Oort cloud. It seems to be securely established that ~1–2% of these are captured into Halleytype (HT) orbits. The dynamical lifetime of a body in such an orbit can be estimated, from which the expected number of HT comets is perhaps ~3000. The actual number of active HT comets is ~25. This discrepancy of at least two powers of 10 in the expected impact rate from comets as deduced from this theoretical argument on the one hand, and observations on the other, is …

Migrating Pole / Wood on Iceberg / Kaku on Yellowstone

Numbers can be presented in many ways. But given that the movement of the magnetic north pole is in a singular direction, all that matters is the speed. This graph is compelling:

Unlike climate change data, this is the entire available data, no selective windows here.

This photo is doing the rounds:

It looks photo-shopped to me. And it looks bigger than anything of such uniform shape would be. And I figure South Pole folk would immediately recognise whatever is was. Still, has an un-spammy source:

Meanwhile TV physicist Michio Kaku was interviewed by CNN, where he mentions the 10-inch ground swell at Yellowstone, which may or may not be indicative of an eruption in the near future. When Yellowstone blows, it will kill with a 500 mile radius, and his advice to people is “run”.

“which may or may not be indicative of an eruption in the near future.”

As with every interview with so-called experts…

In this way, I can be an expert too.

Interviewer: Kirsten, you are an expert on 2012-related stuff. Do you think, based on your experiences with the solar activity, that a cataclism will occur in 2012?

me: Well, based on my experiences and the readings from the solar activity, I believe this may or may not be an indication that a cataclism will indeed occur in 2012.

    Easy, not ?

Since I am following this blog, every article published has a pseudo-scientific odor around itself. It’s safe, easy and you still get the attention you are seeking and some ‘followers’ who don’t understand what exactly they are reading. Probably a whole bunch understood that Yellowstone is about to explode, while there is no significant evidence for this…

Kirsten: as I repeatedly say, everything about 2012 is speculation – the only fact is that the calendar ends. Consequently nothing I ever post can state categorically what will happen in 2012. But as I keep looking for what it might be (if anything) I post all the potential clues.

  • donal heffernan says:

Keep it straight. The calendar does not end. If you were more specific, you might have mentioned the Mayan version. This, however, just recalibrates and starts again. Our Gregorian calendar just keeps ticking away regardless.

    Hi Robert,
It’s good to find a blog where I can find all the relevant information about the 2012 event. However, I just want to ask that recently Japan has socked with a tremor of 8.9 mag. and also a mega tsunami has destroyed some of the cities there, so can this be a related to the Kīlauea volcanic eruption in Hawai. And also, do you think that the expected solar max in 2012 could be a major cause which can lead this world to an end? I appreciate your revert and hope for your support and help!

    Thanks..

  • Robert Bast says:

It seems that the Christchurch quake may have trigger the Japanese quake/s. The current CME and solar flares quite likely contributed. Hold on to your hats, for the next full moon (and 3 days either side of it) could unleash worse.

  • Raghav says:

Robert: Thanks for your revert, I really appreciate your help! Just would like tell you that I have read somewhere in an article, that this earthquake was a result of thrust faulting on or near the subduction zone plate boundary between the Pacific and North America plates. Please advice. And can the next full moon will really cause something worst..!
