Pope Francis: Not Peter, Not Roman…But
The new Pope was not born with the name Peter, it isn’t his middle name, and he hasn’t taken Peter as his Papal name. Also, he is from Argentina, and doesn’t appear to have any connection with Rome except for visiting the Vatican. So, does that mean the Malachy prophecy has stumbled on the home turn?
Well:
- Francis was an Italian saint, and is joint Patron Saint of Italy
- The parents of Pope Francis were Italian immigrants (they were from Turin)
- There was a St. Frances of Rome
- Bergoglio was supposedly first choice when they picked the previous Pope, but he asked them to elect Benedict/Ratzinger instead – because he needed to be the final Pope?
In the forums there is discussion of the new Pope’s surname, Bergoglio:
“BERGO, BERGONZI : Originally from the Germanic word “berg”(monte) meaning mountain”
Petrus means rock
Mountains are made out of rock
And someone made a deeper connection:
Checked on the Oglio river, and it’s a river on the North of Italy. The name of the river comes from the Latin Olius, which means “olives”. On the other hand, Berg means mountain in German, and the North of Italy is right next to Germany. There’s probably some place in Italy called “Bergoglio”, which must mean “the mount next to river Oglio”, or “mount-olives”.
This is where it gets interesting. Because two famous things happen in the Bible on the Mount of Olives: First, it’s when Jesus talked about his second coming.
Finally, here’s Wikipedia with the suggestion that the next Pope might be Petrus Romanus:
Petrus Romanus
In recent times, some interpreters of prophetic literature have drawn attention to the prophecies due to their imminent conclusion; if the list of descriptions is matched on a one-to-one basis to the list of historic popes since the prophecies’ publication, Benedict XVI (2005-2013) would correspond to the second to last of the papal descriptions, Gloria olivae (the glory of the olive). The longest and final prophecy predicts the Apocalypse:
In persecutione extrema S.R.E. sedebit.
Petrus Romanus, qui pascet oves in multis tribulationibus, quibus transactis civitas septicollis diruetur, & judex tremendus judicabit populum suum. Finis. This may be translated into English as:
In the final persecution of the Holy Roman Church, there will sit [i.e., as bishop].
Peter the Roman, who will pasture his sheep in many tribulations, and when these things are finished, the city of seven hills [i.e. Rome] will be destroyed, and the dreadful judge will judge his people. The End.Several historians and interpreters of the prophecies note that they leave open the possibility of unlisted popes between “the glory of the olive” and the final pope, “Peter the Roman.”In the Lignum Vitae, the line In persecutione extrema S.R.E. sedebit. forms a separate sentence and paragraph of its own. While often read as part of the “Peter the Roman” prophecy, other interpreters view it as a separate, incomplete sentence explicitly referring to additional popes between “the glory of the olive” and “Peter the Roman”.

Pope Francis is really peter the roman……….. everybody were trying their search in the distant mountains while the proof was lying inside their house..
the proof is here waiting for you http://manojap99.wordpress.com/
Ok, so it’s possible (due to the olives reference of Emaratus pope B16 and now Pope Francis) that these 2 are the two witnesses! Described in Scripture as 2 olive trees. 🙂
whahaha, what’s this ?? Too funny to believe that 1) the writer believes this crap and 2) there are others who believe this assumption of a belief of an assumption of a bad translation of a link between German and Italian language…
How can you cope with yourself when writing and reading your own BS ??
kirsten:
I dont see BS here. its not presented as fact, only as speculation. and I find it entertaining. and thought-provoking. theres no such thing as coincidence. if you believe in coincidence, you’re dumb. “Nomen est omen” ever heard that?. The Popes name is pretty scary actually. Gergoglio. I hate such coincidences.
overall biblical prophecies are actually pretty accurate. You dont have to believe in God to see some spectacular wisdom in that book. It accurately predicted the current age of money and sex oriented consumer-society, our perverted warmongering sinful ways. look at you: you have no respect for other people’s beliefs. I’m not christian, I dont go to church but I believe that judgement day will come, and there will be a last pope indeed. let other people look for the signs in peace.
