Another Expert Agrees With Dark Comet Theory

Astronomer David Asher (from Armagh University) has agreed with Bill Napier and Janaki Wickramasinghe (Cardiff University) that “dark comets” are real and dangerous.
The following quotes are from a paper by Napier and Asher published in Astronomy & Geophysics.
http://star.arm.ac.uk/preprints/2009/539.pdf

We know that about one bright comet (of absolute magnitude as bright as 7, comparable to Halley’s Comet) arrives in the visibility zone (perihelion q<5AU, say) each year from the Oort cloud. It seems to be securely established that ~1–2% of these are captured into Halleytype (HT) orbits. The dynamical lifetime of a body in such an orbit can be estimated, from which the expected number of HT comets is perhaps ~3000. The actual number of active HT comets is ~25. This discrepancy of at least two powers of 10 in the expected impact rate from comets as deduced from this theoretical argument on the one hand, and observations on the other, is …

In Return, Watch The Sky For Us

Submitted by on November 13, 2012 – 12:37 pm2 Comments

The following is pure speculation!

5,000 years ago, the Mysterious Elders began making deals that would change the course of human history. We don’t need to know who they were – Atlanteans perhaps, alien visitors some might say – but they were certainly scientists, and they were interested in Planet Earth and her Sun.

The deal went like this. We will supply you with all the information and technology you need to control and maintain a civilization for thousands of years. In return, merely watch the night sky and record any instances of colorful displays.

No leader could refuse such a deal. The Mysterious Elders did their best to find kings and leaders who were capable of completing such a long-term mission. While the record-keeping would be quite easy, maintaining a civilization for thousands of years would be required to achieve the task.

In polar regions auroral displays are commonplace. As you get closer to the equator they become more rare – sometimes hundreds of years apart. The Mysterious Elders decided that roughly thirty degrees from the equator would give them the data they needed.

Leaders were recruited in Egypt, Mesopotamia, India, China and Central America. Technology and knowledge were provided. Instructions were given. Then the Mysterious Elders left.

This global experiment went particularly well in Egypt – as evidenced by their immediate use of technology, and the stranglehold on power the Pharaohs held. Elsewhere the experiment wasn’t perfect. But civilizations did rise, leaders grew quickly powerful, and knowledge was utilized.

Observatories and Written Records

My speculation could become a hypothesis if there was any evidence of auroral displays being recorded in ancient times. To the best of my knowledge, none have been found.

For example, the MUL.APIN from ancient Mesopotamia is the best catalog of astronomical events from thousands of years ago. It doesn’t mention auroras, but that wouldn’t be surprising if the mission was secret.

The most likely place to find evidence would be ancient observatories. Nothing special needed to be built to watch for auroral displays, but if you have staff watching the sky every night, it would make sense to give them other astronomical tasks to keep them occupied. Therefore the places I am looking for clues are places that have been continuously inhabited for 5,000 years, as well as acknowledged ancient observatories. For scientific accuracy, I expect that the records would need to be continuous and always from the same location.

One place that has caught my eye is Rey, located in modern day Iran and now part of Tehran.

A settlement began here c 6,000 BCE as part of the Central Plateau Culture… It is mentioned several times in the Apocrypha. Its name dates back to the pre-Median. Some historians attribute its building to ancient mythological monarchs, and some others believe that Ray was the seat of a dynasty of Zoroastrian leader.

Ray is richer than many other ancient cities in the number of its historical monuments, among which one might refer to the 3000-year-old Gebri castle, the 5000-year-old Cheshmeh Ali hill, the 1000-year-old Bibi Shahr Banoo tomb and Shah Abbasi caravanserai. It has been home to pillars of science like Rhazes.

This ancient site isn’t far from where I propose the underground, original Noah’s Ark can be found.

Another site that interests me is the ancient Olmec capital of La Venta. And of course the mysterious elder of note was Quetzalcoatl / Virococha / Kukulcan- the feathered serpent. Images of feathered serpents at La Venta date back as afar as 1200 BC.

What I am ultimately looking for is an ancient list of dates that on average are a few hundred years apart. Any associated description would either be undeciphered or vaguely describing a bright or colorful sky. Such a list, with no obvious correspondences with regular astronomical activity, has probably never attracted the attention of archaeologists.

Pyramids

Included in the knowledge was a tip for leaders – during auroral displays hide in a cave, the deeper the better. Hide anyone whose DNA you wish to keep untainted. A cave is easiest, but you could build a giant bunker that would serve the same purpose. Plans for pyramid construction were provided. Smart leaders took this advice. They wished to protect their bloodlines, and they were scared of the invisible particles that would flow through their bodies during a solar storm.

The real purpose for the pyramid bunkers of course had to be kept secret, so they called them tombs and burial chambers.

Mayan Calendar

Roughly 2,000 years ago the Mysterious Elders had enough data to predict the next major solar storm – a storm that would dwarf the Carrington Event. In various ways they left clues for us to decipher, letting us know what to expect in December 2012. So far we have only decoded one of those ancient messages – the ancient Mayan Long Count calendar.

Today?

Skywatching and reporting continued until modern times. Instead of entrusting civil leaders with the task, for the last 2,000 years it has been carried out by religions and secret societies. Think The Da Vinci Code… but with a different secret. And don’t be surprised if the Vatican were involved!
