Expert Opinion #1: Robert Sitler
Recently I reached out to some of the most-read authors in the 2012 space, regardless of whether they agree with my doom’n’gloom mentality. I simply asked for a brief overview of what they think will happen in 2012 (if anything), and optionally, where they will be on Dec 21.
First up, I’m pleased to present the thoughts of leading Mayan scholar Robert Sitler, author of The Living Maya: Ancient Wisdom in the Era of 2012 :
Sitler: Apart from the awe-inspiring unfolding of consciousness that has occurred continuously since the dawn of time, I honestly do not think anything extraordinary will occur in connection with the December 21, 2012 date. The hoopla surrounding the close of the 13th pik in the Long Count has no basis in reality and has unfortunately overshadowed the brilliance of Mayan cultural traditions and the lessons they offer for global societies that are fundamentally disconnected from the natural world.
If one does not ascribe the ancient Maya people any special insight, whether by supernatural mechanisms, intense natural studies or alien contact, then it is normal to assume they would have no special information regarding 2012 events. If however you do see them having these, whether one or all, it becomes a very different matter. I respect Robert Sitler and like him as a person, but I feel he does not know what the ancient Maya knew. Their warning to us has been very clear and it is one that may save a large number of lives.
I respect and like Bruce as well and I agree wholeheartedly that I do not know what the ancient Maya knew, and I think we should be skeptical of claims stating they do know. Of the thousands of ancient Mayan hieroglyphic texts thus far discovered, only TWO refer to 2012. The La Corona text says nothing at all about the date and the Tortuguero text simply mentions the presence of Bolon Yokte’, a deity associated with era beginnings/endings. The 2012 date is never mentioned in any of the Mayan codices, in the Chilam Balam books, in the Popol Vuh or in any other historical Mayan source. I do not think it wise to draw conclusions about 2012 based on such scant evidence. Best wishes to you, Bruce.

As you know, unlike many more respected 2012 researchers, I do (now) claim special insight into this 2012 matter. I am no longer basing my work on just the inscriptions and aural tradition, instead I am also using a mass of past life material and visions, largely from my partner and co-author. This being the same lady whom I discussed with you briefly some [poor sound quality] recordings that I made of her talking in a strange language whilst unconscious (that sounded Mayan). This is perhaps where I part ways with traditional research, and as I say I understand why anyone would take your position when considering the limited physical remains of the ancient Mayan culture. My more dramatic take on 2012 is thus not so much from Mayan remains.
On another note I think you may not be aware that the Chilam Balam has been shown to speak on the end of the 13th Baktun, though it was changed to be the end of a Short Count cycle once the Long Count fell from use. References to the 4-Ahau end date can only be tied to the Long Count ending, as the 4-Ahau does not fit a short count cycle. The prophecies in question refer to a major upheaval and alien contact.

My upcoming book with full details of my own claims, and the basis for them, will be out in late August from Balboa press. To be clear this is not a book based on material channelled from aliens, this is based on actual direct experiences of my partner slipping back into her life in Palenque, being there just as vividly as I am now here looking at this computer. That she finds aliens there is what has been amazing, and more than that, that she enters underground areas with additional calendars and inscriptions (some also in Sumerian script). As I said to you on Facebook, I appreciate that for some this will have to be taken as a interesting story rather than fact due to it being based on psychic.supernatural type phenomenon. That said, so far we have made several public predictions that have all manifested, based wholly on the info we have gathered.
