A show called Mermaids: The Body Found has been running on Animal Planet in the USA. According to Huff Post, it’s not exactly a serious doco, but what it has done is introduce the Aquatic Ape Theory to many people.
The theory is very relevant to 2012 – a previous global cataclysm could have left some groups of apes isolated in flooded areas. Those apes could have learned to live in an aquatic environment, eating fish (equals better brains) and developing some aquatic features that other apes don’t have, like hairlessness. And they could be our predecessors…
Sold Out Bunker
I’ve reported on Larry Hall’s Survival Condo previously. He has now officially sold out all of his expensive condos. I guess the race is now on to get them built by the end of the year.
Hall says that one of the condos in the silo is complete, and the rest will be ready in 8 to 10 weeks. Meanwhile, he’s negotiating to build two or three more shelters in decommissioned silos.
Jim Bakker
If you run a retail business, you can generally charge what you want for your products, and customers can decide to purchase or not. Nothing wrong with that. But if you hold a religious influence over your customers, over-charging them could be seen as taking an unfair advantage. Jim Bakker preaches an upcoming apocalypse, and sells survival supplies, at greatly inflated prices:
- Wheat Buckets for $200, available elsewhere for $105
- Meal Buckets for $2000, available elsewhere for $1075
It says on Bakker’s site:

It seems that even when Jesus is going to save you, you still run the risk of starving…
I was not a follower of JB,…but watched him now and then, because Tammy was such a entertaining character. However, I felt sorry for him to take that legal fall,..I believe he was made an example of, and to the extreme. I don’t think he was that bad! Now, trying to get back on his feet, maybe his overpricing is sort of a donation?! Perhaps!

Jim Bakker. Mostly the women saying this meant it as a compliment.
Resembling a notorious con man is not any kind of compliment to me.
This conniving piece of crap should have been kept in jail.
No matter what this thief does,he just does not seem to do it
without taking unfair advantage of religious people,who because he
uses Jesus as a common bond,poor people trust what he says.
