Tomorrow marks a self-imposed deadline – I decided that all my SHTF preparations needed to be in place by June 21, 2012, which is the winter solstice in Australia.
\nMy reasoning is that Dec 21, 2012 is the darkest day in the Northern Hemisphere (and more noticeable the further north you are), and so it might have been chosen by the Maya for its symbolic meaning. A day of doom. And that would mean it represents the six months before and after the solstice – otherwise they would have chosen another year.
\nWell, I am prepared enough, ready to keep my family safe. But there’s always more than can be done, things like:<\/p>\n
buy a second car – something tougher than a Kia!
\nget a generator for our home (already covered at the safe spot)
\nget a bigger bolt cutter for the car
\nbuy m0re seeds
\nbuy more tools<\/p>\n
