\ntask force to study governmental continuity in case of a
\ndisruption in federal government operations; providing for
\na report; providing appropriations; and providing for an effective date.<\/p>\n

\nthe United States dollar and the ability to quickly provide
\nan alternative currency;<\/p>\n

(ii) Potential effects of a situation in which
\nthe federal government has no effective power or authority
\nover the people of the United States;<\/p>\n

(iii) Potential effects of a constitutional
\ncrisis;<\/p>\n

(iv) Coordination between the governor’s office,
\nWyoming national guard and any federal military in Wyoming;<\/p>\n

(v) Potential effects of a disruption in food
\ndistribution;<\/p>\n

(vi) Potential effects of a disruption in energy
\ndistribution.<\/p>\n

Good News<\/strong> – a politician has been very pro-active, aiming to have measures in place before a nation-wide or even world-wide disaster leaves Wyoming isolated. The task force would determine ways for Wyoming to use their own militia and currency if they were ever needed.<\/p>\n

Bad News<\/strong> – seems like it was a just a ploy to send a message to the federal government via the media – that Wyoming is financially healthy and it would rather not be associated with national failures.<\/p>\n

Sad News<\/strong> – the House of Representatives rejected the bill last Tuesday, with a close vote of 30-27, “opponents said<\/a> the task force wasn\u2019t needed and that the bill\u2019s message had already been delivered thanks to significant national media coverage of the legislation in recent days<\/em>“. They meet again on Monday, so it is possible a new vote will take place.<\/p>\n

In at least a dozen US states, politicians have previously tried to pass such bills and all have failed. It’s such a shame. This bill is only seeking $16,000 to fund the task force, and whatever the findings were, it would have been worth it for doomsday scenarios to be discussed in public forums and the media.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
