Usually I’m telling people that nobody knows for sure what will happen in 2012 – but it’s best to prepare for the worst, just in case. Today I am guaranteeing that certain disasters will occur – just not necessarily in 2012…<\/p>\n

Flu Pandemic<\/strong>. It is 100% guaranteed that one day millions of people will die from a killer virus – mostly likely a strain of influenza. The world has never been more interconnected, and the recent movie Contagion highlighted the risks. Experts say we are well overdue for a killer pandemic. There’s tiny <\/em>chance that scientists can develop a vaccine quick enough to save lives.<\/p>\n

Coronal Mass Ejection<\/strong> – powerful enough to knock out satellites and power grids. It has happened before (in the 1800s) and it will certainly happen again. If it happens tomorrow, it has the potential to be a great catastrophe. We have the ability to upgrade power grids to protect them from harm, but so far governments are choosing not to. It saddens me that such ignorant people are in charge.<\/p>\n

The two scenarios above have a strong likelihood of happening in the next few decades. The rest are still going to happen, but you or I are less likely to witness them:<\/p>\n
Asteroid \/Comet <\/strong>colliding with Earth, or enough size to kill millions of people from the resulting tsunami or rain of ejecta.<\/p>\n
Magnetic Pole Shift<\/strong> – don’t trust scientists who say it will be harmless. They’re just guessing. They refuse to investigate the harm that a rapid pole shift could cause, even though there is evidence that a reversal could take only a day or so to complete. The poles will reverse one day, that’s a certainty.<\/p>\n
Supervolcano <\/strong>– these are pretty rare, but there is guaranteed to be a supereruption one day in the future.<\/p>\n
War<\/strong>. Maybe I’m being pessimistic, but I can’t see the current wars being the last, and most experts would suggest that every country in the world will experience war on their soil one day in all the future ahead of us.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
