The Brit\u00adish Mu\u00adse\u00adum bought its skull, a life-size carv\u00ading from a sin\u00adgle block of rock crys\u00adtal, from Tif\u00adfa\u00adny and Co., New York, in 1897, …and a larg\u00ader white quartz skull do\u00adnat\u00aded to the Smith\u00adso\u00adnian in 1992. <\/p><\/blockquote>\n

The scientists have concluded that, because the source of the quartz used was probably Bra\u00adzil or Mad\u00ada\u00adgas\u00adcar (and ancient cultures didn’t communicate), and because both skulls “were carved with ro\u00adta\u00adry disc-shaped tool, a tech\u00adnol\u00ado\u00adgy the an\u00adcient Mex\u00adi\u00adcans didn\u2019t have” – that therefore they were made in modern times.<\/p>\n
