Caves Discovered in Easter Island

Once again, an ancient mysterious site has been found to be associated with the underground:
A team of experts recently discovered a six-kilometer-long lava cave system on Easter Island thought to have been used as a refuge by the island’s inhabitants during the 16th century. The team confirmed it is the largest cave on the island and the 11th-largest in the world in terms of area.
So many possibilities!
  • The "Long Ears", while on Easter Island, instinctively sought out somewhere underground to hide
  • The "Long Ears" stayed on Easter Island because of the caves
  • Caves are everywhere, and it is just a coincidence
  • The "Long Ears" created, or at least augmented, the caves
Worldwide, at locations historically known as "the navel of the world", people have headed underground, or created massive buildings to shelter in.

Peru and Easter Island Connected - By Land?

At the end of the last ice age sea level rose from 200 to 600 feet depending on where you measured. Drop sea level 300 feet and part of the Nazca Ridge would be exposed.
