SWAT Team Storms Private Bunker

May 10, 2012 – 1:39 pm | 3 Comments

The anti-survivalist actions of some authorities in the USA are getting much worse. In recent times we have seen the malicious use of zoning laws to thwart survival plans, and we have seen many of things survivalists do listed as suspicious (in a terrorism way). This most recent news is of special concern for anyone who has a private bunker:
After getting dressed Mr. Del Rio went and opened his front door. He was immediately bum rushed by the Austin Police Department’s SWAT Team and then detained and interrogated for over 10 hours.
His crime: on his property was an old Cold War bunker that Mr. Del Rio had converted into a workshop.
You’d think the interrogation would have been enough punishment, but unfortunately the authorities:

fenced off his home and prohibited him from entering the residence
filled in his entire basement and bunker with 264 tons of concrete
sent him a bill for $90,000 in …

Japanese Movie Features 2012 Comet

Japanese Movie Features 2012 Comet

I *think* this the first movie to mention a comet heading towards Earth in 2012. A Japanese film that is seeing cinema releases at present (well, in London at least), it has a fractured storyline revolving around a book and then punk song titled “Fish Story” – this is also the name of the movie. Presumably at the end, 3 people are in a record store, listening to the old punk rock track while a comet hurtles towards Earth. Full info at IMDB and a review at Time Out.

2012 Forum Members on TV

As part of the celebration surrounding the release of the blockbuster 2012 movie, several members of the 2012 Forum have appeared on TV. I was on a Nat Geo documentary, and excerpted on Entertainment Tonight.
Steve Pace was interviewed by CNN:

And our own resident Charlie Frost, known as TheVeiledProphet, popped up amongst other popular YouTube videos on the 2012 topic, also on CNN:

2012 Movie: Geryl, Suicide & the Chinese

2012 Movie: Geryl, Suicide & the Chinese

Most major newspapers had an article on the new 2012 movie when it opened recently. The Spectator ends their review with something I found amusing & strangely prophetic:

When the remnant of humanity — and a Noah’s ark sampling of animals — has to be herded into movie’s own, apocalypse-proof arks, it’s Chinese engineering, not American, that proves equal to the task. “Leave it to the Chinese,” says somebody. “I didn’t think we could do it in the time available.” That sounds to me like a self-fulfilling prophecy. For a start, all our best technical talent has given up working on military hardware and is now concentrating on computer-generated imagery.

Suicide
More serious now, the idea of 2012-related suicide. Tens of millions of people will enjoy the movie for what it is – popcorn entertainment. A few will unfortunately consider it to be an accurate adepiction of an event that will certainly occur, …

John Cusack Impersonates Indiana Jones

Over at MTV is a complete scene from the forthcoming 2012 movie that perhaps provides some clues as to the tone and style it will have. What we see is a roller coaster ride where the hero survives due to some skill but mostly luck. The graphics are great but unbelievable. There are jokes and accents…

FIXED: 2012 Debunked – Excellent Video

Note: This video was removed from YouTube, but has turned up again, so I’ve updated this, and there’s a permanent link to the video as well now.
Although a good portion of my life is dedicated to promoting the need to prepare for the worst in 2012, the amount of misinformation and bad science out there bothers me a lot. Consequently I love it when someone puts time and effort into creating a 2012 video like this one:
It’s well worth watching for anyone who wants to understand what the “galactic alignment” is all about, and what it isn’t.

The Shining & The 2012 Movie

Found this via The Wrong Way Wizard blog:
The teaser trailer for 2012 uses the same music as the theatrical trailer for The Shining. Watch both trailers and compare the music and visual themes. Both previews depict a flood.
He also links to a massive look into hidden messages of The Shining, which notices that there is a piece of Mayan artwork in the film:

Meanwhile the Lord Pakal Ahau folk have noticed that a Mayan pyramid appears in the Beatles’ movie Yellow Submarine:

Emmerich on 2012 Idea

Emmerich on 2012 Idea

Found at Yahoo Movies:
So how does Roland Emmerich end the world in his upcoming epic “2012″? “Pole reversal,” he said in an interview this week. “All kinds of stuff going on. But it’s basically major earthquakes and volcano eruptions which kind of cause this global flood.”
“We found this obscure theory of ‘Earth crust displacement,’ written in the ’50s by someone called Professor Hapgood. Albert Einstein wrote the foreword to his book. It pretty much [says] every X number of years the whole Earth’s crust shifts, all together. We thought that that was a great underlining theory that can explain why there can be a flood.”
And what is the director going to do in preparation for that fated date? When asked he said, “I’m a pretty down to earth guy. Even [though] I made movies about aliens, I don’t believe in aliens. And I don’t believe that the world will come …

Watch "Last Extinction" Online

After screening on PBS in America in March, the 1 hour documentary “Last Extinction” is now available for viewing online:http://www.pbs.org/wgbh/nova/clovis/program.html
The doco investigates the possibility of a comet causing widespread large mammal extinctions 12,900 years ago. Currently the most academically accepted theory is that migrating humans hunted the megafauna to extinction. However recently discovered evidence suggests that a comet may have struck at that time:

Earth’s temperature, according to geologic records, dropped 18 degrees in two years
Scientists found iridium, rarely found on earth, in elevated levels across Northern America. Iridium is often an indicator of meteors and comets, and was also found in the layer correlating with the extinction of the dinosaurs 65 million years ago.
Found alongside the iridium were hexagonally shaped microscopic diamonds, which don’t occur naturally on earth

All that stops this theory from becoming scientific fact is the lack of a crater, (although this hasn’t been the case with Tunguska…). …

2012: Science or Superstition – A Review

2012: Science or Superstition – A Review

2012: Science or Superstition (2008), directed by Rich Rosell.
Experts interviewed include: Walter Cruttenden, Graham Hancock, John Major Jenkins, Lawrence E. Joseph, Jim Marrs, Daniel Pinchbeck, Douglas Rushkoff, Dr. Alberto Villoldo & John Anthony West

2012: Science or Superstition is the latest 2012 documentary, and the best I have seen to date. It ticks many boxes:

numerous 2012-related authors interviewed
calm, not sensationalist
suitable for newbies, but plenty of food for thought for 2012 veterans
happy skepticism included

As any serious doco should, both sides are presented – those that are predicting an apocalypse, and those who believe humans will be entering a new age of consciousness.
To give you an idea of the roster of quality interviewees, 12 are named on the DVD cover, and Robert Bauval didn’t make that list. I especially enjoyed the inclusion of Alonso Mendez from the Maya Exploration Center), and the cheeky archaeoastronomer Anthony Aveni (he’s the skeptic, but acting like …

Some “End of the World” Movies

These are being released next year, or have recently been released. Is it just a coincidence that these types of films are coming out so close to 2012?
2012 – from the guy who gave us Independence Day2012 – written by the guy who gave us the Communion bookCity of Ember – survivors in an underground cityThe Road – based on a post-apocalypse book by Cormac McCarthyAutumn – all of us become zombiesDeadland – post WW3, sounds like Mad Max ReduxWasteland – our pollution causes everything to dieThe Last Man – sounds like I Am Legend
I guess that means lots of comedies will top the movie charts?

Video – 2012: An Awakening?

Here’s the trailer for a forthcoming doco:

Starring the ideas of David Icke, Adrian Gilbert, Gregg Braden, Geoff Stray, Annabel Burton and John Major Jenkins – you just know it is going to be pink and fluffy.
But Patrick Geryl is in there as well, so maybe someone has convinced him / brainwashed him / forced him to believe that the end of the world is not nigh after all?
Watch and see…

History Channel: Doomsday 2012: The End of Days

History Channel: Doomsday 2012: The End of Days

The History Channel has been a great promoter of the 2012 topic. This one screened on Jan 21 & 22.
There are prophecies and oracles from around the world that all seem to point to December 21, 2012 as doomsday. The ancient Mayan Calendar, the medieval predictions of Merlin, the Book of Revelation and the Chinese oracle of the I Ching all point to this specific date as the end of civilization. A new technology called “The Web-Bot Project” makes massive scans of the internet as a means of forecasting the future… and has turned up the same dreaded date: 2012. Skeptics point to a long history of “Failed Doomsdays”, but many oracles of doom throughout history have a disturbingly accurate track record. As the year 2012 ticks ever closer we’ll speculate if there are any reasons to believe these doomsayers.
