For a very long time the Mayan doomsday meme revolved around the extraordinary idea that an ancient culture would have a calendar that ended in the distant future. A future we live in…

In recent months archaeologists and the media have spun the attention towards Tortuguero Monument 6, the only piece of evidence that connects Dec 21 2012 with a story. And the story is conveniently vague and half-erased…
For me, the end date in December rules supreme, and the mystery of its origin drives my survival plans. But for those who want to delve into obscure academic aspects of the date, there can be no safer and finer essay than that of Geoff Stray. Please read The Tortuguero Prophecy Unravelled over at Graham Hancock’s site:

This has led to some important new discoveries as Jenkins has just revealed in his The 2012 Story, which is hot off the press. Grofe discovered that on Bahlam Ajaw’s birth-date, the Sun was in the exact same position that it will be at the end of the 13th baktun on 21 December 2012 (except that in 2012 precession will have moved the Sun/galactic equator conjunction to the day of winter solstice). Grofe thinks Bahlam Ajaw was claiming a special relationship with the end of the current 13-baktun cycle, and the deity Bolon Yokte, who is connected to that event. Jenkins has also suggested the possibility that Lord Pacal of Palanque did something similar, possibly inspired by Baham Ajaw, and trying to upstage him by having his coronation day on the same day in the solar year as the last day in the next higher cycle in the Long Count – the 20-baktun cycle, or Pictun, thus becoming a kind of higher-ranking time-lord. Jenkins has suggested in his excellent new book, that the king of Copan, 18 Rabbit also connected himself to a future baktun-ending, as well as the katun ending 9.14.0.0.0 when the sun was again in the dark rift. This is also the last date recorded at Tortuguero before 13.0.0.0.0 when Bolon Yokte descends.

It’s not hard to make the link. In the early first century, Mayan civilization was on the decline, and up in the USA earthern mounds were being built – and corn was introduced.
That the structures were not as elaborate suggests that it was only working class Mayans that fled.

Around 200 AD Indians in Florida and Georgia began the construction of enormous earthen pyramids. At the same time corn also arrived in Florida. Corn is a native crop of Mexico and archaeologist William Sears, who first discovered this evidence of corn agriculture in Florida, argued in his book that it must have come from Mexico or Central America.

US Government officials believe North Korea will soon be building its first road-mobile intercontinental ballistic missile, an easily hidden weapon capable of hitting the United States. While the major concern is that North Korea might target nuclear warheads at the USA sometime in the future, an easier to realise payload could have catastrophic effects – High Altitude Electro-Magnetic Pulse.
Such a device, if nuclear-powered, could affect the electronics of an entire continent. But there are also non-nuclear HEMP devices. Because their explosive materials are much bulkier, they are more likely to be used on a specific target – Wall Street for example, or the downtown of any city. And they wouldn’t be restricted to sending just one. What if they fired one at every major city in the USA, all on the same day? Or what if they targeted nuclear power plants?

The recent upheavals in Egypt caused research permits to be placed on hold, but the Supreme Council of Antiquities has now started granting permits again. The Leicester robot company Scoutek UK are confident that they will be able to finish their mission in 2012. Which means a “micro snake” robot they have created will perhaps, finally, let us know what is really at the end of the shafts of the Great Pyramid.

Here’s hoping for an interesting result!

Hard to tell what the real story is… Did the idea of people meditating scare them? Too many crowds? Thwarted terrorist attack? The mind boggles.
Egypt will close the Great Pyramid of Giza later today to avoid any rituals by a group rumoured to have plans to mark the date of 11/11/11 at the site, an official said.
The decision came “after much pressure” from Egyptian Internet users saying strange rituals were going to be held “within the walls of the pyramid on November 11, 2011″, said Atef Abu Zahab, head of the Department of Pharaonic Archaeology.
The Supreme Council of Antiquities confirmed the closure of the tourist site in a statement that only referred to the need for maintenance following a busy period during Muslim holidays.

Bruce Fenton is over there for 11/11/11 and he reported on Facebook that there were soldiers deployed at giza. People asked not to meditate. Its getting crazy fast!

According to Egypt Daily News, the shutdown was to thwart a Masonic ritual by 1200 Israelis who want to place the star of David on top of the Great Pyramid.

A translation of the Arabic article at youm7.com says:

`Al-Youm Al Sabea` Egyptian daily newspaper has learned from sources in the Supreme Council of Antiquities of Egypt that the Secretary General, Dr. Mustafa Amin, allowed a Masonic/Jewish ceremony at the Great Pyramid of Giza to take place in Nov 11 afternoon. Source exclusively said to Al-Youm Al Sabea that the ceremony is being organized by a polish organization called Lilly Raisin and it invited 1200 Jewish people from all over the world to participate in the ceremony.

The source added that many Jews believe that this day is unique and will never come again because it is 11.11.11, and many believe that it will be the end of the world. He also mentioned that attendees will surround the pyramid forming a Star of David and they will place a diamond that is also shaped as a Star of David at the top of the pyramid.

Interestingly, for us, there is a 2012 link:

On Friday, 11 November,a polish foundation supporting archaeological research, DAR SWIATOWIDA, will group people from all over the globe at the footsteps of the Great Pyramid of Giza for a meditation “ceremony of love” to strengthen the power of the pyramid in that special day (11-11-2011) to save the earth from cosmic threats.

According to the president of DAR SWIATOWIDA, Andrzej Wojcikiewicz, the pyramid’s energy would be strengthened and through the installation of two interpenetrated pyramid-shaped crystals, produced in India out of mountain crystal, inside the granite sarcophagus found in the king’s burial chamber inside the pyramid.

The special day of 11-11-2011, Wojcikiewicz said, is a unique opportunity for people from all over the world to join in meditation in order to send the energy of love towards Egypt, towards the Great Pyramid, and towards earth.

“This will be a global meditation to help Mother Earth, to help in protecting the earth and its people against further escalation of violence and cataclysms as well as for spiritual awakening,” he explains.

According to DAR SWIATOWIDA’s event website, entitled Cheops Project, on 11 Novemberthere would be two ceremonies at Giza Plateau from 11:00am to midnight.

The morning ceremony will be inside the king’s chamber of the Great Pyramid where a man and a woman described as “Human Angels” will place the crystal pyramid in the sarcophagus on two golden bars supported by four granite cubes.

The golden bars are inscribed with a verse saying “Man doesn’t live by bread alone.”

Human angels, continued Wojcikiewicz, will then meditate in the chamber for 75 minutes to energise the crystal pyramids.

At the evening ceremony, which starts at 11:00pm, Wojcikiewicz says on the website, all invitees to the event will meditate in circles hand-in-hand around the Great Pyramid in order to send the energy of love directly to the pyramid shaped crystals inside the sarcophagus, which in turn will strengthen the energy of the pyramid and be connected to other pyramids all over the globe to activate all energy points, or so-called “chakras”.

http://english.ahram.org.eg/NewsContentPrint/9/0/25967/Heritage/0/Meditation-ceremony-to-save-Planet-Earth-at-Pyrami.aspx

This is the same group that sponsored archaeological surveys, including the one to discover the Labyrinth, in which Patrick Geryl was involved.

And the group once said on their website:

Information contained on our pages comes from Higher Intelligence and civilization from planet Ashun in Orion constellation.

There are a few authors out there who have flown beneath the radar, yet their research is unique, interesting and meaningful in a 2012 way. You could blame self-publishing for their lack of fame, yet this is the modern advancement that has allowed me to discover their work. For example, I have become a fan of these authors:

James Bowles – The Gods, Gemini, and the Great Pyramid
Robert Berringer – Ancient Gods and Their Mysteries
Robert W Felix – Magnetic Reversals and Evolutionary Leaps
Suhail M Jalbout – The Warning in Stone
Arthur Ryan – Are We Worth Our Salt?

While none of them have completely solved the puzzles (and neither have I), each have possibly provided important keys. These are all men who have shown great insight, and devoted a good portion of their lives to getting those insights out to the world, for little gain.
A new addition to the above list is Howard ...
Locked Gates by Howard West is a post from: 2012 Blog

Arthur Ryan – Are We Worth Our Salt?

While none of them have completely solved the puzzles (and neither have I), each have possibly provided important keys. These are all men who have shown great insight, and devoted a good portion of their lives to getting those insights out to the world, for little gain.

A new addition to the above list is Howard West. Like Robert Berringer he comes from a Christian angle, but in a good and catastrophic way. His eBook, Locked Gates, covers megalithic masonry, pyramid building solutions and comets, amongst other topics. He discusses his research with Art Bell. I love how he casually mentions how close he lives to Groom Lake (Area 51).

New ideas (to me) presented in his book are:

Widespread use of the heliograph in ancient times. A super signal mirror…

The origins of Morse Code

Pyramids were heliograph watchtowers

Heliographs were used to build the pyramids

I’m not convinced that the Nile was once high enough for the blocks to be floated and dropped down to build the pyramids – his explanation that the evidence of the needed dam was washed away seems to convenient, given that evidence of the ancient Sadd el-Kafara dam was found. Nor to I accept conclusions that the word pillar was used when they meant pyramid. Still, as with the books listed above, he may have discovered some clues that will be part of the great solution of somebody else.

Zahi Hawass, long chided as publicity loving and short on scientific knowledge, lost his job along with about a dozen other ministers in a Cabinet reshuffle meant to ease pressure from protesters seeking to purge remnants of Mubarak’s regime.

Presumably his successor, Abdel-Fattah el-Banna, will have a different approach. But don’t expect new projects and access this year, this is certainly a job for cautious types. Hall of Records before Dec 2012? I guess it is possible!

UPDATE: Seems as though was not a great choice. Read about him at Norah Shalaby’s blog. Professor Ken MacKenzie from the Macdiarmid Institute for Advanced Materials and Nanotechnology in Wellington, has announced the results of a study that included scientists from the UK and USA. Their findings were released last week at a conference in Japan and published in the journal Materials Letters.
State-of-the-art analytical techniques have enabled them to study the nuclear structure of the casing stone of the Bent Pyramid in Dahshour. The results suggest that the casing stones are artificial, cast from minerals found in the surrounding area. The abstract for the paper says:

While is solves a big part of the puzzle, there are certainly gigantic pieces of stone (not concrete) all around the world, including structural parts of Egyptian pyramids, where we are still unable to explain how they were moved.

Zecharia Sitchen passed away on October 9th, in New York City, at the age of 90. He wrote a large volume of books on a singular topic, and has many fans, as well as numerous detractors. I’ve gotten a few leads from his work, but he isn’t trustworthy enough to reference I’m afraid. Still, he contributed greatly to promoting awareness of ancient mysteries.
Native Americans (aka Beringians) visited Iceland over 1,000 years ago – they hitched a ride with Norsemen, and DNA proves it.
Meet the Djedi Team who are planning to guide a robot once again up the “air shafts” of the great pyramid.

Many tourists in China have seen the terracota warriors and been told that the nearby tree-covered hill is the mausoleum of Qin Shi Huang. Tourists are unaware, and Chinese authorities have refused to admit that the “tomb” is actually one of the largest pyramids in the world. Legend has it that:

“plans for the tomb included flowing rivers of mercury, cross-bow booby traps to thwart would-be plunderers, and replicas of the Emperor’s earthly palaces.”
It reads like a work of extreme fantasy. Sima Qian reports that 700,000 workers were employed to burrow through three rivers, and fill the space with bronze. Then artisans apparently carved a map of the entire Qin kingdom on the floor, laced the ceiling with jewels to represent to sky, and created rivers and oceans with quicksilver – that is, liquid mercury (which was widely believed to have life-preserving powers in Qin times).

Then artisans apparently carved a map of the entire Qin kingdom on the floor, laced the ceiling with jewels to represent to sky, and created rivers and oceans with quicksilver – that is, liquid mercury (which was widely believed to have life-preserving powers in Qin times). A special machine was even apparently conceived to keep the mercury rivers flowing.

Strong traces of mercury have already been found, and now for the first time in almost 25 years further excavations at the site have begun!

Does this look like a bunker?

As I regularly point out, an oft-neglected feature of pyramids worldwide is potentially related to their true purpose – they have tunnels directly underneath. It is as if the first function of each site was underground rooms reachable by tunnels. Often the pyramids that were subsequently built above occurred in layers. Perhaps they were striving to bury the underground chambers deeper and deeper, to provide further protection from cosmic rays?
In Teotihuacan, the 3rd-biggest pyramid is undergoing an excavation that exposes a tunnel and chambers:
Gómez Chávez explained that the tunnel passes under the Temple of the Feathered Serpent, the most important building of the Citadel, “and the entry was located a few meters from the pyramid.
Access is by a vertical shaft of about five meters per side down to a depth of 14 meters from the surface, the entrance leads into a long corridor with an ...
Tunnel Found Beneath Teotihuacan Pyramid is a post from: 2012 Blog

Access is by a vertical shaft of about five meters per side down to a depth of 14 meters from the surface, the entrance leads into a long corridor with an estimated length of 100 meters which ends in a series of underground chambers excavated in the rock. … through the use of a GPR it was determined that the tunnel has a length of about 100 meters, and has large chambers inside.

BTW, the Pyramid of the Sun at Teotihuacan also has a tunnel beneath…
