NASA Debunks Galactic Alignment
The Galactic Alignment was originally promoted by John Major Jenkins, and then it became a mutant meme. So mutated that journalists ask me about the planetary alignment of 2012 (there isn’t one). There’s two ways of looking at:
1. The ancient Mayans cared about the Dark Rift (which is where the galactic center is) and were very accurate at predicting when it would align with the solstice Sun.
2. Some physical or mystical effect will occur due to the alignment.
Regarding the latter, the alignment was at its most aligned in 1998, and nothing has happened. And in terms of physics, the only force that could have any effect is gravity, and the galactic center is too far away to be meaningful. NASA describe this well:
Second, Earth is not within range of strong gravitational effects from the black hole at the center of the galaxy since gravitational effects decrease exponentially the …
Volcano Destroyed Palenque / 2012 Rap
A study has found evidence that the Maya city of Palenque may have been destroyed by superheated volcanic gases and covered with ash. Meanwhile an eruption alert has been issued by the Mexican government for Popocatépetl, the volcano that sits next to Mexico City. Imagine if it erupted during the Pope’s visit!

There have been a few video raps about 2012 in recent years, but this one stands out because it features an intellectual heavyweight: Noam Chomsky.
Ancient Mayans in Ancient USA? Big Debate
At the demise of the Mayan civilization, did the middle classes and commoners head north and form new cities in what is now the USA?
An article at Examiner.com has caused a lot of chatter online, with people seeming divided on the validity of the concept.
NB: Examiner.com content comes from thousands of writers who are self-motivated independent contributors.
People of One Fire researchers have been aware since 2010 that when the English arrived in the Southeast, there were numerous Native American towns named Itsate in Tennessee, Georgia, South Carolina and western North Carolina. They were also aware that both the Itza Mayas of Central America and the Hitchiti Creeks of the Southeast actually called themselves Itsate . . . and pronounced the word the same way. The Itsate Creeks used many Maya and Totonac words. Their architecture was identical to that of Maya commoners. The pottery at Ocmulgee National Monument (c 900 AD) in …
Gigantic Biblical Cube from Space
This would be one of the more out there predictions for 2012, but the reasoning behind isn’t that bad. I used Biblical measurements to (perhaps) locate an underground Noah’s Ark in Iran. Bob Cooper believes the Bible was written by aliens, and the arrival of an alien ship will be the 98th in a series of events it predicted.
The Book of Revelation [...] stipulates the following:
[16] And the city lieth foursquare, and the length is as large as the breadth: and he measured the city with the reed, twelve thousand furlongs. The length and the breadth and the height of it are equal.
[2] And I John saw the holy city, new Jerusalem, coming down from God out of heaven, prepared as a bride adorned for her husband.
First we see that it is similar to a giant mothership and that it will descend from space (Rev. 21:2) The dimensions of this …
Blue Eye Noah: Survival RV
Speaking of Xmas wish lists…
Here’s an interesting idea – it’s a regular RV that you can leave parked in your driveway. But if a tsunami comes, and the floating tubes are attached, in becomes a boat. It’s tough (kevlar) and self-contained.
Made in Taiwan. Their website is blueeyenoah.com
Check out these features:
diesel generator, plus optional solar panel and wind-power generator
optional positive pressure air filter and water filter
bullet-proof – built with Kevlar
water-proof – it’s a boat when you add the floating tubes
17, 19, 21 and 23 feet models
It’s quite affordable, with prices starting at US$40,000. Available in the USA in the northern spring, just in time for the end of the world.
The name is interesting, here’s what they say:
…a natural disaster about 8,000 years ago wiped out other Homo sapiens races in the Black Sea area, and only one blue-eyed person (family) survived, resulting in a gene explosion by …
Papal Prophecy Looking More Likely
If you are not aware of the Prophecy of the Popes, attributed to Saint Malachy, then read here:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Prophecy_of_the_Popes
Unlike Nostradamus, the prophecies are very short, and limited to describing each Pope (or occasionally major events that happened during their reign). The accuracy is quite extraordinary, which means one of two things:
1) Prophecy is real and Malachy was accurate
2) The Catholic Church has deliberately chosen to fulfill the prophecy via each papal election
Regarding the latter, there’s an excellent overview at The Daily Grail that looks into recent aspects of self-fulfilling prophecy and the current Pope:
The “Glory of the Olive” (Gloria Olivae). That’s what St. Malachy’s famous prophecy has to say about our latest Pope. Everyone thought that was a sign that the new Pope would come from the Benedictine order, which is symbolised by the olive. He isn’t. However, he did take on the name of Benedict XVI, which makes one wonder …
The Last Doomsday
It’s not a contradiction of terms – plenty of 2012 debunkers will let you know that every other doomsday prophecy was wrong. Well, it only takes one doomsday prophecy to be right – so how do we judge them?
Historically, regardless of how popular they became, doomsday prophecies tended to be based on the ideas of a religiously motivated individual. The most recent was Harold Camping. Aside from Y2K, all the major doomsday predictions that failed were:
Based on the Bible
Used dodgy logic, usually revolving around numbers or codes
Promoted by an individual
And Y2K was real, but we fixed it. And it wasn’t a prophecy, but rather reality.
The Mayan prophecy (and there is an implied prophecy, according to the Popol Vuh each previous “age” ended with the destruction of the human race) is not Biblical, doesn’t feel the need to offer any logic, and was embraced by an entire society. Nothing like anything …
One Year To Go – Are You Ready?
First and foremost, the very notion that there is only one year left until (perhaps) the end of the world as we know it, should have many people making New Year’s resolutions – planning to survive. It can be your resolution if you choose – there will never be a better opportunity to take control of your destiny. This is especially important for those with families…
In the UK, George and Karen Shaw are a great example of every day people making the sensible, prudent decision to store food and water. They aren’t crazy survivalist gun nuts, or doom and gloom religious zealots. They’re just doing what humans have always done – except for the last two generations who seem to think they are invulnerable to catastrophes.
Just like the Shaws, divorced mother-of-four Lynda Mayall is stockpiling supplies:
As well as buying several hundred pounds worth of freeze-dried ‘survival’ meals, her cupboards contain …
Hurricanes = Earthquakes / Another Atlantis Candidate
Very wet rain events are the trigger. The heavy rain induces thousands of landslides and severe erosion, which removes ground material from the Earth’s surface, releasing the stress load and encouraging movement along faults.
…found a strong temporal relationship between the two natural hazards, where large earthquakes occurred within four years after a very wet tropical cyclone season.
The two countries that were used to demonstrate the connection are Taiwan and Haiti – avoid these places after a very wet cyclone season…

Two sunken islands almost the size of Tasmania have been discovered in the Indian Ocean west of the Australian city of Perth.
…the two islands that now are covered by about a mile (1.5 kilometers) of ocean water.
“The sunken islands charted during the expedition have flat tops, which indicates they were once at sea level before being gradually submerged,” Whittaker said in a statement. The rocks retrieved from the islands also surprisingly …
NASA: No Supernova in 2012
Before we get to the debunk itself, here’s a couple of thoughts:
LAZY: The first 3 pages on Google for 2012 supernova find a straight-to-video mockbuster movie of the same name, and a website called 2012supernova.org that doesn’t actually mention supernovas. And that’s it. They are debunking something that didn’t need debunking because nobody believes it.
Of course now there’s a web page about it written by NASA…
NO DISCLAIMER: Every time scientists tell us about space, they should really put a disclaimer at the bottom, saying: We are constantly learning about outer space, every year we find many things that we didn’t expect, and everything we tell you could be proven to be wrong if new data arrives.
The NASA debunk itself is pretty standard:
Yes – supernovae and gamma-ray bursts could fry us.
No – there’s no stars or black holes close enough to harm us, and anyway they won’t happen soon.
Given the incredible …
North Korea / Pyramid Snake in 2012
US Government officials believe North Korea will soon be building its first road-mobile intercontinental ballistic missile, an easily hidden weapon capable of hitting the United States. While the major concern is that North Korea might target nuclear warheads at the USA sometime in the future, an easier to realise payload could have catastrophic effects – High Altitude Electro-Magnetic Pulse.
Such a device, if nuclear-powered, could affect the electronics of an entire continent. But there are also non-nuclear HEMP devices. Because their explosive materials are much bulkier, they are more likely to be used on a specific target – Wall Street for example, or the downtown of any city. And they wouldn’t be restricted to sending just one. What if they fired one at every major city in the USA, all on the same day? Or what if they targeted nuclear power plants?

Update: Definition of a Terrorist
I covered this back in August, but it has taken on a deeper meaning now that US citizens can detained without charge or trial – the law has passed, and Obama didn’t veto it after all… You could theoretically be locked up forever for one of these:
Storing Food. The FBI/DOJ have decided that having more than 7 day’s food on hand is suspicious, even though this is precisely what FEMA recommends (in case of a disaster). There’s a report from a cannery that pimarily has Mormons as customers (their religion compels them to keep one year’s worth of food stored), where federal agents were asking for customer lists – fortunately they didn’t keep one.
Owning Guns and Ammo. You especially don’t want to be a military veteran who has just returned from war. The Dept of Homeland Security have said:
the return of military veterans facing significant challenges reintegrating into their communities …
Gingrich Fears EMP Doomsday
It is certainly reassuring when a leading politician mentions the possibility of a catastrophe that most people are unaware of. Newt Gingrich is the subject of an article this week at the NY Times:
In debates and speeches, interviews and a popular book, he is ringing alarm bells over what experts call the electromagnetic pulse, or EMP — a poorly understood phenomenon of the nuclear age.
The idea is that if a nuclear weapon, lofted by a missile, were detonated in outer space high above the American heartland, it would set off a huge and crippling shockwave of electricity. Mr. Gingrich warns that it would fry electrical circuits from coast to coast, knocking out computers, electrical power and cellphones. Everything from cars to hospitals would be knocked out.
In the introduction to the 2009 novel One Second After, Gingrich said millions would die in the first week alone.
The US military believe that the …
Mega-Mega Black Holes Discovered
I’m not a physicist, and I am certainly not inclined to work out the harm a supernova can do to us. But I do know that when scientists say X light years away is safe, I think perhaps multiply that by 5 or 10 to cover the aspects they haven’t discovered or determined yet.
Black Holes are not acknowledged by orthodox scientists to be a risk to Planet Earth. The jets that can flow from them would be devastating, but with the nearest black hole being so far away (the center of our galaxy), the idea that we can be affected is ignored.
Enter Paul LaViolette:
Galactic superwaves recur at long intervals and arrive at Earth’s doorstep without warning because they travel at near light speed.
During its active period, our galactic core spews out a fierce quasar-like barrages of cosmic rays, with a total energy output equal to hundreds of thousands of supernova …
Antioxidants Protect from Radiation
Heath nuts tend to be keen on antioxidants, and there are plenty of products out there that mention the benefits in their advertisements. They now seem to be of potential value to survivalists – taking a combination of antioxidants prior to having an CT scan reduced DNA damage by 50%:
In our initial small study, we found that pre-administering to patients a proprietary antioxidant formulation resulted in a notable dose-dependent reduction in DNA injury…
According to New Scientist (April 2, 2011) the formula included vitamin C, glutathione and uric acid. I can see this research leading the way towards experiments on mice to show which antioxidants can protect us in the event of a nuclear disaster.
