Survivalists in Florida

Great article in the Miami New Times last week, profiling preppers and survivalists like these folk:
Jorge Villa – after a terrifying experience during Hurricane Andrew he devised his own bunkers, and sells them to folk – some of whom are worried about the end of the Mayan calendar – via his business U.S. Bunkers
Neal Wiseman – moderates a group called the South Florida Survivalist Network, and has a year’s worth of food stored for his family, should the need arise:

Chris Petrovich – prepper for 25 years. He has helped others “cache extra fuel and food, stashed in public-storage units and underground, at intervals on an 800-to-1,200-mile path out of Florida. WebBot Shut Down?

Submitted by Robert Bast on October 18, 2010 – 6:19 amOne Comment

In the Internet Marketing arena it is common to get emails titled “Sorry – Our Servers Crashed”. It’s easy enough to take your site off-line and make it seem like there was an avalanche of visitors, to create buzz…

I won’t be bold enough to suggest this is the case this week with the “Web Bot” at HalfPastHuman.com, although some might think they need a boost of publicity given the general failure of their predictions for a long period of time. Regardless, the predictive service that famously has a focus on 2012 has returned:

We’re baaaaaack!

And it has been an incredible trip getting here.

Our old ISP got the ‘word’ from ‘special department’ to terminate with prejudice our HPH site on their server.

As mentioned on the 2012 forum, the “termination” occurred  9 years, 1 month and 1 day after 9/11.
