What if nothing happens in 2012?

This is a common question, and one that especially concerns 2012 prophets, 2012 fearmongers, and 2012 spiritual evolutionists – for they could all have egg on their face.
First of all, there’s a good chance something will happen, because most years somewhere in the world there is a major story. 2012 will still have legs, because proponents of the meme will say things like:
- that earthquake / volcano / tsunami is the beginning of the end
- that politician just voted in is the anti-Christ
- that new scientific discovery will lead to something disastrous
- that piece of heart-warming good news indicates the start of a global spiritual uplifting
But also, don’t dismiss the human ability to self-fulfill prophecy, in either a good or bad way. If enough people believe we will undergo a spiritual transformation in 2012, and cause it to happen within their selves – who knows what the flow on effects might be?
Conversely, if enough people fear the worst, and prepare for it, that could spiral out of control. The 2012 meme casts a wide net, and if aspects resemble the “commies under the bed” scenario of the 50s, fear could feed upon itself. In recent times we have seen how mild panic about a food shortage can spark a food shortage…
Then all we need is for a religious zealot to cause the reconstruction of the Temple Mount, sparking a Muslim v. Christian WW3… In short, don’t underestimate the potential for humans to make 2012 something out of nothing.
I definitely agree that humanity can cause a 2012 scenario to happen. If enough people think something will happen then chances are they themselves will cause not only a food shortage but fuel as well and life as we know it could be disrupted for quite sometime.
Well… look at the world right now, ther is a war almost in every part and against most of the middle east, a big precent of the global population is sturving, dictators rising up, many nations have a weapon and tecnology that can lead to apocalypse [conventional and unconventional].
its hard to belive that it all will dissapear and our world will be pure.
So something, sometime, got to happen, rather a good or a bad thing, it will come ant the whole world will be affected, the question is 2012 is that year….
By the look of things, it is.
Dont forget that we all are just animals called humens, craving for wealth in all its' aspects, our brain is so sophisticated that we cant imagine ther is nothing after death and carma dosnt exist, that life is just about survival, but the bubble that we live in and our genarations [the 4-5 genarations sience approximently 1700] created will not survive for long, just like every civilization
of humens from the begging of our recoreded history

Absolutely Cindy! Everywhere you read or kick up the subject on 2012, people aren't takin' any chances. Their perparing for the worse, brushing up on their survival needs. Especially with PlanetX on our heals, 4 light years away.Were beyond prayer, this is a responsiblity we must face on our own. This isn't a time to be faint at heart. Remain steadfast, brave hearts. The rewards that await us is beyond our comprehension.

I've read a few of your thoughts and ideas on the subject. I must say I've found this most intriguing ever since first heard of the Mayan calendar. I'm sure you've also already came to the conclusion of this as well from your research, but you state on your site that the Earth will reverse its rotation. If that is the case and the massive solar flare occurs creating the polarity shift, would we not begin to retrace our path?
Seeing as the earth sits in a groove of alignment with the other planets and our sun, if we would reverse in polarities, we would begin to go back through that groove.
The question that I ponder on, is how far back will we go before we reach another cataclysmic event that causes us to reverse polarities again.
So as to opposed to finding a way to survive through all of this. I believe we should be creating our own form of a Mayan calender to show our ancestors the events that could occur up to our own reversal point.
Part of me believes this is also how the Mayans were so correct on their predictions. While their science corresponds with astrology and a knowledge of the earth that surpasses ours today, perhaps they had guidance from something lost in time.
I know these are all non-factual thoughts with nothing truely to base them off of besides my own ideals, but they seem plasuable to me.
Joe – you are referring to an article on my site written by Patrick Geryl. While I have a lot of time and admiration for Patrick, who do have different opinions regarding the how of 2012. Personally, I have seen nothing to suggest that our planet's rotation could ever reverse. Something could stop it spinning, sure, but that something would probably do a whole lot more as well.
But reverse the spin and maintain a similar type of spin as today, and the same trajectory around the Sun, seems impossible.
What if all the destruction is before or after 2012? That is, if suppose a horrible hurricane happened in fall of 2011 that crippled the economy, and people were expecting things to be worse in 2012, yet nothing happened… could that cause future problems in 2013?
I believe that the CFR and other elite groups will create their own 2012 if nothing happens. We have heard them talk about ‘depopulation’ for a long time now. Swine flu, Avian flu etc, were tests on creating a pandemic.
