The Great Escape: 20 People Leaving the Matrix
I think it is fair to say, that as 2012 approaches, more and more radical interpretations, and reactions, will become known to us. Hopefully nothing as extreme as Heaven's Gate.
This group of 20 or so Belgians mention 2012 a fair bit, but say they feel the world is doomed, with or without the end of the Mayan Calendar.

The 2012 folks on the net might be more dangerous than what will actually happen to you some 4 years from now... These prophecy folks are after two things, your mind or your money.They have decided to leave the Matrix, and invite others to join them:
Requirements are:They have put some thought into the best survival spots, and I generally agree with their thinking, except they forgot to mention Australia:
- age between 20 and 40, preferably couples
- no kids or pets
- good mental and physical health
- intelligent and specific useful knowledge (see previous posts)
- fluently French or Spannish and English (the more languages the better)
- be ready to leave home, car, work, money, family and friends in the next 1 or 2 years
- no turning back option (we are there without any communication to the outside world and no money or any 'material luxury')
- cost: nothing, just courage and a conscious decision
We have 4 spots so far. 2 of them are going to be screened this year for sustainability.Interestingly they use the 2km height promoted by legendary 2012er Patrick Geryl, another Belgian.
The spots:
• Peru
• South-Africa
• Tanzania
• Turkey
Each spot has its own advantages and disadvantages. Important selection criteria for the spots are:
• Distance from nuclear power plants (min 1000 km)
• Height of above the current sea level. (Min 2km)
• Proximity of (renewable) a water supply
• Distance from matrix folks (min 50km)
• Availability of direct food
• Availability of wood (unlimited would be nice)
• Availability of other resources needed for construction of other buildings (sandstone, grind, ...)
• Risk of matrix folks going crazy (a.k.a. political stability in the region = absence of politics in the region) (max 1%)
• Local climate & proximity to the equator (as close as possible)
• Distance from tectonic borders (min 500km)
• Distance from volcanoes (min 300-500km)
• Number of mountain rigs an eventual tidal wave of 2km height will have to breach before it gets to our colony

I read most of their posts at the bolg, and as an israeli citizen I want to point out that the Gaze "war" we are at right now is based totaly on selfdefence, we had a contract with Hamas[the terrorisem organization that was democraticly chosen to lead Gaze by its own people] to cease fire and and after 2-3 months they broke their prommise.
As I see things, our war at Gaze won't be a reason for another war at Lebanon[because Hizballa, the domination terrorizem organization ther, wich we had a war with 2 years ago at Lebanon(its started for the same reason, they bombed our cities) and now their leader, Hassan Nassralla is trying to get in the goverment and starting a war with us will totaly ruin his plans]
As for Siria, after Lebanon will stay behind, and Eqypt will keep sticking with us as they do now, and with the help of other countries like US they won't do anything.
And for last, Iran, I see them just like Korea back in the day when they got nucleer power and threatend to start a war, they are just making noice and after a while will compremise for something else.
The things you hear in the press, and the noices crowd make all over europ is just becaus it has converted to Islam. It's a shame that innocent people die but what can you expect when a terrorisem organization gets millions of dolars from every islamic country all over the world and instead of investing it in their citizents they booby trap every building [incase we will get in with our forces] and hide rocket lunchers inside buildings in the middle of the city.
We might have killed hundreds in that war alrady, but they have been bombing us for the last 4 years and the target was Israeli people ONLY, they dont care if its soldiers or kids.
So what is it all to do with the end of the world?
Well ther is a prophcy that the final war will start from the holy land, its written in the bible[the prophecy], but if Iran won't go crazy and actualy execute their threats, its hard to belive that anything else will start between us and the middle east.
It seems logically thought out, and though I do not have much to contribute to their colony.. I will seriously consider the possibility of joining with my husband. [even though he says "bah" to all this "2012 mumbojumbo"] Thank you for posting this.
What if they are running away from a relatively safe area to one where a volcano will open up, or an earthquake will devastate, or meteor will fall?

I live in Macapa City,Amapa,Brasil.in the Equator Line.I don't believe that my city might survive after this catastrophe.So, I decided to travel to Peru in this year,with or without my parents,my brothers,friends or any person which wants to do the same.

Do not fall in hysteria. I'd like to believe that there is more sanity then insanity in this world. This is crazy stuff. Every 10 or more years, someone makes panic about some 'doom' date... And what happens? Young people take their own life in that artificially made hysteria. It is pure brainwashing, so we don't see what is going on in front of our very eyes. It is usually done so someone can make some more money.
We are all going to go away sooner or later. If anyone read the Bible, you should know that no one knows the time of the last day. It is known only to God. So, this date is just some date three years from now, in the future that still don't exist. Live your lives like a good people and have no such worries. Spare some money to beggar on the street, take some poor hungry soul to some sandwich, love your neighbor (parents, family, brother, sister, some person that you just met)...
I am Orthodox Christian, and we are learning to live every day like it is the last, and we pray for a dignified death and forgiveness every day, just as we pray for a good life.

And bad things around the globe are going on every day, from the beginning of the written history. And there ware always some groups that want to take advantage from the others people misery.
We should read good literature, educate our self... We shouldn't be some 'darkies' that run through the fine day thinking (some of us screaming :) ) of 'the date of doom'. It is not a day good spent! And our life is very short - what 80 years? It goes by very fast. Think of eternity, after that 80 (or less) years, what will be with us then? Do we deserve to be saved? No one of us deserve it, we can leave that only to God's mercy. But we have to show some good deeds. Is panicking about some Maya calendar a good deed? Or wanting to leave everyone you love to join some group of insane people that want to run from the end of the world to Turkey? :) Of course it is not. So, be in peace, and make some good today. Oh, and if some of you don't believe in eternal life and therefor don't believe in final judgment, you have even less to worry about what will happen in 3 years, right?
