Were Unicorns Real?

As this image of a deer in Italy shows, genetic abnormalities can cause a creature to have a "horn". The reamining question is whether the unicorn myth was due to one odd deer (or horse), or whether it was an inherited genetic trait that existed in large enough numbers to give them their own name of unicorn.

Totally plausible. If you think about it, all legends start from some sort of truth. So why is it not possible? How many creatures have we killed, and some without even realizing it until it was too late?

Thats not a freakin unicorn. Its a disease that those deers catch and it grows in the middle of their forehead. Just like a rabbit with reindeer antlers. The rabbit doesnt have antlers, its a disease it caught.

well maybe all antlers started out as diseases but then somehow got passed along the genetic code and eventually became the reason they survived..

this may be true since I believe myths come out from some truth only. It may be so that it's a disease and so from ancient times the deers are having these disease.

I believe that the 2012 event could involve evolution, and that unicorns and dragons were once real, evolutionary freaks, but died out.

Thast's why :)

Ok, seriously? Unicorns? Could you please help defend Santa, Leprechauns, and the Tooth Fairy before getting crazy here?
