Oh-oh - Magnetic Field Changing Fast
A magnetic pole reversal is overdue. Such an event would result in an massive influx of radiation. It would damage electrical equipment, and cosmic rays could cause mutations. Some people feel a crustal pole shift could also result.
There is evidence that the next reversal could be as soon as 2012:
Scientists believe a reversal would take place over several thousand years, but I suggest that it could happen overnight. Thinking in terms of thousands of years is directly due to the timescales used when dating previous reversals - they wouldn't be able to tell if it took one day, because they cannot date events that accurately.

Rapid changes in the churning movement of Earth's liquid outer core are weakening the magnetic field in some regions of the planet's surface, a new study says.
"What is so surprising is that rapid, almost sudden, changes take place in the Earth's magnetic field," said study co-author Nils Olsen, a geophysicist at the Danish National Space Center in Copenhagen.
...The changes "may suggest the possibility of an upcoming reversal of the geomagnetic field," said study co-author Mioara Mandea, a scientist at the German Research Centre for Geosciences in Potsdam.
...The decline in the magnetic field also is opening Earth's upper atmosphere to intense charged particle radiation, scientists say.
Satellite data show the geomagnetic field decreasing in the South Atlantic region, Mandea said, adding that an oval-shaped area east of Brazil is significantly weaker than similar latitudes in other parts of the world.
"It is in this region that the shielding effect of the magnetic field is severely reduced, thus allowing high energy particles of the hard radiation belt to penetrate deep into the upper atmosphere to altitudes below a hundred kilometers (62 miles)," Mandea said

Wow...I almost gave you some credibility over thje last couiple of months, but you have now proved yourself a fear mongerer.
What edvidence do you have to suppose that a pole shift could occur overnite? The evidence you supplied (if you can even call it that) is so weak i had to laugh.

justmechillun: all I said is could, not would. Scientists are unable to date previously reversals so finely, so it is a possibility.
If it happens over thousands of years it will be a non-event, not worth discussing.
If it happens overnight, we need to prepare. That is the focus of all my research, surviving 2012
From what I have heard, Albert Einstien may have been the first to come up with the theory of magnetic shifts.
If something does happen,that is sudden and catastrophic, I intend to be somewhere that I may be able to survive.
There are way too many "coincidences" for my taste. I am searching for people to join me, not for some stupid religous crap, just for people looking to survive what may come. (Rob, not looking to steal your thunder either) You bring up some rather good points, I just think people should maybe start thinking about what may happen, and prepare for it, go somewhere, do something...
With all the confusion about dates and magnetic pole shifts and deteriorations it leaves me feeling lost.
But I have been toying with an idea. But what if we are transcending this plane and moving on to another dimension? Then all our efforts to 'survive' a polar shift would be pointless and perhaps we should be focusing on our spiritual evolution instead?
I for one, beleive in the lightening of the physical body. For those into dogma - that means letting go of all your possesions including the preparation for the here after! What will be 'left' remains to be experienced.
I would like to pose a question; what if the weakening of the magneti shield is to allow radioactive/ solar wind particles into our atmosphere to accelerate our vibrational energy, readying us for this next phase of evolution?
Then all our preparation would be in vain. But who knows, eahc unto his own and prepare in our own way we must!
It's funny how you spoke about solar wind particles, Archgabriel because scientists are admitting and suspecting a strong solar storm for mid-June of 2012. They predict it won't be severly strong enough to kill all life on Earth, but just enough to knock our magnetic feild off-balance and flip us upside-down. Also, if any of you are technology addicts as in glued to your cell phone, or laptop 24/7, they also predict that our satelites will not work for a while afterword, so you might die a little inside in the duration.
(PS. justmechillun, try not to be a know-it-all. No one actually knows what will happen in 2012, so don't pretend you know nothing will happen.
