Experts: Crystal Skulls are fake

These findings are due to appear in The Journal of Archaeological Science:
...research suggests two well-known crystal skulls, in the British Museum and the Smithsonian Institution in Washington, are not, after all, from ancient Mexico. Academics now believe the British skull was made in 19th-century Europe and the American one even later.
The British Museum bought its skull, a life-size carving from a single block of rock crystal, from Tiffany and Co., New York, in 1897, ...and a larger white quartz skull donated to the Smithsonian in 1992.
The scientists have concluded that, because the source of the quartz used was probably Brazil or Madagascar (and ancient cultures didn't communicate), and because both skulls "were carved with rotary disc-shaped tool, a technology the ancient Mexicans didn’t have" - that therefore they were made in modern times.
Both assumptions are at odds with those who believe in advanced ancient cultures, but in this case I think the orthodox scientists are correct.

I don't think there is anything that will save the world.
The evidence is all around us, just take a drive on an interstate and do the speed limit and see how many looks and gestures you see.
who are you to say what technology was available back then..you can't comprehend prehistory. only then maybe.... if this is just some dumb thing we made to help people learn about it.. The 2012 Mysteries..
there is information being released, realities become the times
Could it be that peoples are going to change soon, the phrase "realities become the times" will make common sense?
sorry if that is a little out there but hey...its a comment
Who cares?
Both the Smithsonian Skull and the British Museum skull were proven as fakes a decade ago, due to the same jewellers wheel theory, this is not news, why is this institute coming out with this now?
The Mitchell-Hedges skull is a different matter entirely. The same institute that oriinally performed the testing on the fakes refused to release their findings on the Mitchell-Hedges skull. They even had the gall to say they never did any, despite several eye witnesses seeing the preparation work being done, which they also deny.
