Video – 2012: An Awakening?

AGNs – source of high-energy cosmic rays
According to New Scientist, Nov 17 2007:
The Auger researchers analysed all 27 of the most energetic cosmic rays… and found that almost all seemed to come from AGNs less than 250 million light years away…
However… astronomers can’t yet rule out the possibility that some high-energy cosmic rays come from gamma-ray bursts
AGNs are Active Galactic Nuclei, of which the nearest is our own Galactic Center – which so far does not appear to spit out cosmic rays, but you’d be foolish to think that this means it won’t.
Peru and Easter Island Connected – By Land?
At the end of the last ice age sea level rose from 200 to 600 feet depending on where you measured. Drop sea level 300 feet and part of the Nazca Ridge would be exposed.

"Doomsday Ark" – Planned for the Moon
The seed bunker in Norway has been taken a step further, with plans being laid for an information bank buried on the moon, in 2020 and hopefully sooner (although it seems unlikely to be achieved prior to Dec 2012).
It would contain hard discs holding information such as
- DNA sequences- instructions for metal smelting – instructions for planting crops
The clever aspect is that it would transmit the data to Earth – no need for us to go back up there to retrieve it.

Wolf-Rayet star aimed right at us!
The spinning wheel is generated by two massive stars, 8000 light years away, circling each other every eight months. Gigantic clouds of gas streaming off the stars are being stretched by the stellar dance into a spiral, much as water spirals from a rotating garden sprinkler.
Eight years ago Dr Tuthill’s team, using Hawaii’s huge Keck telescope, discovered that one of the objects is a highly unstable beast called a Wolf-Rayet star. They inevitably die in huge explosions that may sometimes produce deadly gamma ray bursts.
Now Dr Tuthill’s team has made another discovery. Overlapping 11 time-lapse images of the 30 billion-kilometre-long gas spiral, they have concluded that Earth is almost directly above one pole of the doomed star, dubbed WR 104. When Wolf-Rayet stars explode, much of their energy is blasted from the poles.

HAARP and 2012
HAARP is basically the USA’s project for messing with the world’s ionosphere, without the world’s permission… but perhaps it is a secret plan to protect all of us from a 2012 event?
HAARP can also “induce precipitation of energetic particles” in the ionosphere, which “could impact the operation and lifespan of satellites.” While this is mainly about protecting satellites from particles from solar flares or nuclear explosions, the phrasing suggests that it might be able to have a subtle negative impact on satellites as well.
The quote is from a recent WIRED article, discussing the release of an official paper that details the potential uses of HAARP.
Surely, if they can protect satellites from solar flares, they can protect us on the ground as well, to some extent?

Planet X & Asteroids – They Will Be Found!
There has a been a lot of talk about how an uncharted asteroid, or even Planet X, could do us harm in 2012. The problem is that these predictions are hard to prove or disprove – we don’t have good enough telescopes.
This is all about to change with the Aug 2007 launch of Pan-STARRS in Hawaii. Over 4x bigger than any other telescope camera, it will photograph three-quarters of our sky by 2010.
Until now roughly 600,000 asteroids have been catalogued. By 2012 that might reach 1 million thanks to the new telescope.
It will also find any new planets that might be out there, having the ability to locate Jupiter-size planets up to 1700AU from the sun, and Pluto-sized planetoids up to 250AU away. As a comparison, Pluto is between 29-49AU from the sun. The director of the operation said “If Nemesis is out there, we will find it”.
