DNA Hope - Baby Mammoth Found

A baby mammoth has been discovered in the permafrost of north-west Siberia - and it could turn out to be the best preserved specimen of its type.

The six-month-old female mammoth was discovered on Russia's Yamal peninsula, and died in the cataclysm of 10,000 years ago.

The animal's trunk and eyes are still intact and some of its fur remains on the body.

Scientists have been saying "find us some viable DNA, and we'll create a living mammoth" - so finally this might be achievable. Of course once they create one, it better grow to a huge size, or else the public will just see another elephant.
