canibus is a pretty clever guy, and he seems as though he knows what hes talking about in his rapping.
search him in wikipedia rob, its got some pretty good stuff on canibus.
Canibus is one of the best rappers lyrically. He also puts above-average topics in rhymes flawlessly. I can understand when he claims poet laureate. My goal is to spit, shit on this level off the top every time.

Rap is a culturally degrading 'art' form that is ruinous to Black youth in the USA. It is promoted and capitalized on by record labels in order to promote an inferior and degrading mindset to minorities, who eat it up with a spoon and proceed to emulate the values it upholds. This holds these groups down, which is the ulterior, if not explicitly stated goal of the powers that be, namely the white power elite. If Blacks and other minorities would wake up to the fact that rap music is produced while other creative, socially uplifting forms of music by Blacks and other minorities are discouraged and less-marketed, thus creating a self-perpetuating cycle of single welfare mothers, street crime, and drug use/sales in their neighborhoods, perhaps the quality of their lives would improve and they would raise a new generation of people who could finally pick up where Martin Luther King Jr. and Malcolm X left off instead of merely turning out a bunch of 'thugs' and 'thug-life promoters' like Tupac Shakur, Canibus, NWA, Snoop Dogg, etc etc the list goes on and on. If you disagree with me, try viewing the BET network video shows and see if you get my point. 'Public Enemy' and 'Run DMC' are/were two examples of Rap being put to a good use but this was in the mid to late 80s. RAP has been degraded to the point where the only values it espouses are bitches and 'hoes', bling bling, 'benzos' and 'shorties' it's amazing how people try to be color-blind and look at it and say to themselves that it has any value whatsoever. The negative effects it has had on racial equality and race relations, as well as relations between Black (and other minorities) men and women, and the family unit inside these groups is hugely detrimental and therefore negates any value this form of music once possibly had. Period. Canibus talks about 'faggots' and says 'nigger' every other word. He is an illiterate moron espousing poisonous moral values to a completely non-firewalled populace of underage Black (and other minority) youths. He doesn't rate a mention on an otherwise informative and interesting blog site like this.
Indigo: That's such a cliche argument that I used to make both to justify my dislike of rap as well as what you said, claiming that it degrades a Blacks. Unfortunatley if you are trying to say all rappers rap about "bitches and hoes" you're oblivious to the vast majority of rap music, virtually all underground rap has important messages in it as well as vivid and deep lyrics that not just anyone can come up with. Please don't claim all rap is an insult to Black people because that is just so ridiculous, rap is a culture in and of itself with different factions and therefore cannot be simply categorized.

I am a minority, non black, even I was offended when you said that it degrades blacks. He was right about Cannibus. In fact I can not think of any rap song he has mad that has lyrics worthy of remembering. But to say that All of rap is negative is correct also. That is why there is a difference between why there is a difference between being a rapper and an emcee. Emcee's spit the facts with out having to include mounds of volgarity. Newer artisit like Kayne West, Commmon and Talib Kwalie are good example of TRUE HIP-HOP artisit.
