december212012.com - Beautiful Site, Deluded Owner

I noticed that this site was for sale, and given that my web design skills aren't the best, I thought I could buy this site for the layout, and change the content...

I made an offer via Sedo, and the owner returned with a price of $1 Million!

In an article, "John" also states that Mel Gibson wants to own this site!

I think it is a lovely site - what a shame that so many 2012 enthusiasts are crackpots!

Just wanted to set the record straight. Just because I'm not willing to sell my website for $300 to $600 does not make me a crack pot. I take my site and this subject very seriously and I have worked very hard to build a site with intrinsic value. December212012.com is ranked number one on Google, the site is visited by 63 different countries around the world, and receives literally millions of hits each month. I truly appreciate your kind words about the site and sincerely welcome the development of as many sites as possible to get the word out about the coming events of December 21 2012.

It is definitely worth more than $600, that is indisputable - it was the $1 Million price tag that I thought worthy of the "crackpot" tag.

I guess my main concern is that there are too many people out there attempting to profit from something that could be catastrophic for all - rather than trying to help...

If John was genuinely trying to help to cause he would be trying to sell his site (on Sedo) so soon after creating it - and (presumably) lying about Mel Gibson being interested.

Rob.
