2012 book by Whitley Strieber to become Blockbuster Movie

Nobody makes big loud American movies like Michael Bay, and has apparantly acquired the rights to Whitley Strieber’s next book (to be released later this year): “2012: The War for Souls”.
Known for his highly successful UFO book back when UFO-mania was at its peak, is Strieber just cashing in on a popular fad? Regardless, it will help publicize the Mayan end date, for better or for worse, and a movie even more so.
Will Bruce Willis thwart the Mayan doomsday?
