Long Count connected to the birth of Lord Rama?
Could just be a coincidence. I was reading an article about the dating of Lord Rama. His birth has been calculated as 12.30 p.m. on January 10, 5114.
The current Long Count of the ancient Mayan calendar began at Aug. 13, 3114 BC.
Exactly 2000 years apart, give or take a few months. I can't see any reason for the calendar to start 2000 years after his birth, but it's worth keeping in mind when trying to correlate all the ancient calendars and timelines...
